Toshio Kishiyama

My featured photographer for this week is Toshio Kishiyama. I was browsing on Flickr and I came across some really amazing photos on a photostream, and found Toshio! I instantly fell in love with his work because his style is very exotic. He has taken photos in many different countries. I think his pictures really interested me because I actually realized all of the different wonders in the world, and that there can be so much more to photography than just taking pictures around the places that I see daily.
*He asked that no one take any pictures from his flickr and blog about them, so you can see for yourself!

John Merritt
My featured photographer for this week is John Merritt. He was born in London, England but was raised and now lives in Los Angeles, California. John started out his career by dabbling in drawing and painting, and then finally found his passion for photography. He said he has now found his "calling" in life. All of his photography services include model portfolios, actor head shots, professional portraits, wedding photography, and fantasy glamour shots. John's studio is located in Santa Monica, CA where his photography brings him an overwhelming sense of joy and satisfaction. John's work is unique because he has so many different styles that he likes to work with. I really enjoyed reading his profile because I learned that you don't always have to know what you are doing in life right away. You can take your time to explore new things, and hopefully one day you will find your "calling."

Thomas Hawk

I was searching on the internet for a photographer that caught my eye, and I found Thomas Hawk. I started reading about him and more in depth into his profile and found out that he is a really charismatic guy. He currently lives in San Fransisco, California. Thomas's work is less about individual images, and instead more about the power of a massive amount of disjointed and excessive images where stories can come to life. I loved his work right away because his style is different than anyone's I've seen. He takes very fragmented and distinctive pictures of inordinate objects. Thomas made me realize that photography doesn't have to be all about the perfect, arranged shot, but more about the beauty in objects that you pass right by without a second thought.

"The absurdity of my obsessive compulsive view on photography is not lost on me. But it is the absurdity of life that I find most beautiful of all. Where Sisyphus had his stone I have my camera and a bag full of lenses." - Thomas Hawk

Oleg Igorin

For this week's featured photographer, I have chosen Oleg Igorin. Oleg lives in New York, New York and is a New York based fashion and beauty photographer. He spends his time mainly working with models and also does a lot of advertising for companies. Right when I saw Oleg's work, I loved it. I am really into fashion and design, so his pictures caught my eye. All of his pictures are really strong and have a lot of vibrant colors. Many of his beauty shots with the models contain really energetic and dynamic make-up!
