Post Processing Basics - Dani Ramthun

Showing above are my before and after photos. It is a shot I took of my sister while we were outside playing in the leaves. I love her facial expression, but I thought I could edit it a little bit more so the picture wasn't so dull. First though, I cropped it in a little bit. I just took about an inch off of the left side so it was more focused on the subject. Then I went to the Advanced Exposure on Picnik and just played around with it so the shadows and highlights were just about equal on each side of the histogram. By adjusting the shadows, it made the colors a little bit more vibrant in the photo, making it a deeper contrast between my sister and the leaves. I feel now she doesn't just blend in to the ground, everything has more life!

Photowalk #2- Dani Ramthun

This is the back of an old chevy. I loved the truck so much because even though it was all rusty, it still had beautiful aquamarine paint left on it.

The is the side of a really old building next to the water. I love this because of the rust coming down the side of building with the water reflecting, and the bright orange sign in the corner.

These are two little old ladies walking on the trail right next to the water. I love this picture because it reminds me of a small town where everybody is out and walking on a crisp, fall day.

For my photowalk #2, I took these pictures in the beautiful town of Northfield. I walked downtown near the water/dam and the bridge. It was so pretty, I loved it! My top three pictures are above! It was perfect lighting, not too cloudy, not too sunny!

Featured Photographer #3- Dani Ramthun

Amy Dunn Photography

For this week's featured photographer, I have chosen Amy Dunn Photography. She does everything from beauty, macro, fashion, commercial, and head shots. I absolutely LOVE her work because it's very modern and vibrant. She has a lot of great shots with a ton of color, and also has many simple black and white shots. Amy Dunn seems like a really great photographer. After reading some of the posts in her blog, she really feels deeply for every picture she takes. Amy loves taking pictures ranging from the fast-paced life in New York City, to the slow, "small things in life" in Texas.

Dani- My Featured Photographer #2

Ave Maria Photography

My second featured photographer for the week is Maria Mollohan of Ave Maria Photography. She is a freelance photographer working in the west of Ireland. Maria's photgraphy really caught my eye because her style is very classic. In her work she doesn't have a lot of crazy or flamboyent pieces, but her pictures are very clear cut with classic colors.
